Book Clubs Online?
The idea of a book club isn't new. Most of us who enjoy reading have belonged to at least one or two book clubs at any given time. Usually we had to promise to buy a fixed number of books, or we had to remember to return something on time.
Some of our members enjoy a book club at the local library where we don't have to buy anything at all; just show up and participate, and share an hour or two with other book lovers.
But we also have members who have a difficult time getting out to the library.
Health issues and transportation problems, especially in bad weather, can be discouraging. This online book club was created to make sure no one will be excluded by their transportation challenges. If you know someone who has a computer with internet service, and who loves books, please pass along our invitation to visit any time they're able.
And for many of us, your editor included, the issue is simply time itself.
LLP's book club members are just as likely to join us at four o'clock in the morning as at six o'clock in the evening. With an online bookclub it doesn't matter. Whenever you're available, the book club is available, 24-7, holidays included.
We hope you'll join us. And we hope you'll participate often. Share your favorite author by telling us about his/her work. Tell us about the last book you read, and what you liked about it that kept you turning pages.
