Will Henry Lee was a farmer when he was appointed the first official Chief of Police for Delano, Georgia in 1920, when the boll weavil was wiping out many deep south farmers. Will Henry surrendered his farm to the bank before its value was lost, and applied for the new job based on his need as well as on his honor. Not long after Will Henry takes office, he becomes faced with a murder case that will haunt the Delano Police for decades.
"Chiefs" stands alone as one of the best in the mystery genre. Not only is it a riviting story from beginning to end, but it moves forward with characters who grow and mature as the kind of real people who keep the reader turning pages and not wanting the story to end even when the mystery is solved.
