Still Life
by Louise PennyAnybody reading "Still Life" & "A Fatal Grace"?
Unfortunately, I had to read the 2nd one first, and these are definitely a series, but I'm really enjoying the 2nd one so far.
My only complaint is too many characters. After #12, when the protagonist hadn't even entered the picture yet, my eyes started to glaze over and I skipped a whole chapter to see if we were ever going to get to the point. We did, so now I'm back to reading every word.
If you like mysteries with great character development, give these a try. They take place in a small town, Three Pines, in Quebec. Also, the setting is so well developed it's almost like another character. You could NOT move this story to NYC or LA without ruining it.

The Cruelest Month is scheduled for release in March 2008, hard cover only, but a treat for Louise Penny fans following the small town cozy mystery series.
