This is serious reading for both readers and writers.
That doesn't mean it's difficult to read, only that the skill of this author to portray such a serious subject as death is so well presented here that active readers will be greatly rewarded for their time.
Working writers will be equally rewarded by studying the story, pace, characterizations, and sense of place in this novel. This is the English coast like I've never seen it before.
